ABOUT

THERAPY WITH MEHAR

I work with adults (18–35 yrs) navigating concerns such as anxiety, low mood, academic and workplace stress, questions around identity and self-expression, emotional regulation, the impact of early experiences, and other life transitions. I also work with therapists themselves, holding them as they try to hold space for others.

I also work with couples dealing with patterns of conflict, communication challenges, intimacy concerns, and navigating shifts within the relationship.

If you (as an individual) or either partner (in a couple) are currently experiencing active psychosis, severe substance use concerns, or active suicidal ideation, I may not be the right fit at this stage unless you are also under psychiatric care and receiving appropriate medical support. This is because certain experiences require a more intensive or medically supported framework to ensure safety and stability before engaging in ongoing psychotherapy.

My commitment is always to your wellbeing, and where needed, I will support you in finding a level of care that feels most appropriate, containing, and protective.

My Values as a Therapist

Intertwined hands in soft harmony.png

Belonging

I believe that healing begins in spaces where one feels truly seen. My work is rooted in creating an environment where you feel included, valued, and emotionally met. To be deeply seen is, in many ways, to be deeply felt.

Awareness

Therapy is a space for cultivating insight and self-reflection. Together, we gently explore patterns, defences, and meanings that shape your inner world, not to judge them, but to understand them.

Continuity

I pay attention to the paradoxes and recurring themes within your life narratives. My aim is to help you develop coherence across sessions and life transitions, linking past, present, and emerging futures into a more integrated sense of self.

Exploration

I approach your inner world with curiosity rather than certainty. Drawing from narrative and relational practices, we explore experiences, emotions, and identities with openness, allowing new meanings to emerge at your own pace.

Cradling warmth and light.png

While therapy offers support, it is equally about strengthening your capacity to think, feel, and respond independently. My intention is not to create dependence, but to help you develop internal resources that stay with you beyond the therapy room.
